i’ve been extra-appreciative of the type of music that fits the mood of this really great spring weather we’ve been having lately (a post on this to follow). the entirety of the jack johnson catalogue always fits the bill there, as does that of kings of convenience. the most serene republic has been a beloved band for a while, but i was recently on a train for a while from NYC to new haven, connecticut, and somehow i ended up locked onto “…and the ever expanding universe.” gorillaz just released an album a couple of weeks ago, and i had never considered how much i like them until i heard it. and, to complete the roundup, i’ve been obsessed with the roots and stars for years, so there’s hardly a day that goes by that i don’t listen to at least one song by both groups.

as a throwback to my #songs-of-the-day phase, i thought i’d link to some songs by each artist that especially reflect a warm, sunny, relaxed sensibility. enjoy!
